Of Milwaukee, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, age 97 years. She was born in New Hampton, IA on February 2, 1913, the daughter of William Zickuhr and Adele (Ortman). She was married to Benjamin Abel and was the mother of Alan (Ina Lee) Abel and Larry Abel. Later she married William Abel and became the step-mother of Donald (Rose) Abel, Eugene (Millie) Abel and Wayne Abel. She is the proud grandmother of Pamela (Rev. Michael) Plagenz, Jeffrey Abel, Lynell (Chris) Korth, Bradley (Susan) Abel, Randy Abel and Cathleen (John) Payne. She was blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by a brother William Zickuhr; many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Leona Julson, Viola Gott and Arlene Vikdal; and her daughter-in-law Mary Abel. Visitation (TODAY) Friday, November 19, 2010, 2:00-4:00 PM. Funeral Service at 4:00 PM. The committal will be at New Hampton Cemetery, New Hampton, IA on Saturday, November 20th. The family wishes to thank Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center for their love and support during her brief stay. Olinda was a determined, independent woman and an inspiration to her whole family. She leaned on the strength of her Lord through many difficulties. Although she will be dearly missed by all, we know she is at peace in the loving arms of her Savior. To Him be the glory!
