Born to eternal life on Thursday, July 3, 2008, age 73 years. Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Thaddeus and Marie Wishowski. Dear and Special friend of Betty and Jim Schissel, Tom Desotell, Mary Cox, Lance Marifke, Mike Miller, John Hoch, Tom Joerres and Bob Straszewski. Further survived by cousins, other family, friends, fellow teachers, former students and players. Visitation at the Funeral Home Monday, July 14th, 2008, 4-8 PM, prayer service and shared memories at 7 PM. Visitation also Tuesday, July 15th, 10-11 AM at the ST. THOMAS MORE HIGH SCHOOL Gymnasium, 2601 E. Morgan Ave.. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. "Coach" was a dedicated teacher and enthusiastic coach at several schools throughout his career including Crandon High School (1958-61), Burlington High School (1961-65), Pio Nono High School (1965-72), Thomas More High School (1972-97) and Catholic Central (1997-2003). During that time he taught Spanish, English, World and American History. His dedicated coaching style lead to numerous Conference and State Championships in Cross Country, Track and Basketball. He was the first coach in state history to win a championship in both the former WISSA and the newly formed WIAA. As a result of his accomplishments "Coach" received the following awards; in 1993 he was inducted into the Wisconsin Cross Country Hall of Fame, the Wisconsin Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005, the Unified Alumni Association at St. Thomas More High School in 1997 and the St. Thomas More High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006. He was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association and in 1988 received the Milwaukee Sentinel Boys Basketball Coach of the Year. An overall sports enthusiast, "Coach" was the majority stockholder of the Wausau Timbers from 1980-1987. A sincere thank you to the staff at Sylvan Crossing in Cudahy, for the genuine care shown to our beloved "Coach".
