Petersen, Nels. Born to Eternal Life July 6, 2024 at the age of 72. Loving husband of Carol (Bailey) (nee LaVine). Cherished step-father of Mary Bailey. Brother of James (Leslie) of Michigan, Joanne of Stevens Point, William (Susan) of Westfield and Henry (Tina) of Virigina. Father of Naomi Petersen. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation Thursday, July 11, 2024 at THE FUNERAL HOME from 4PM to 7PM. Additional visitation Friday, July 12, 2024 at ST. VERONICA CONGREGATION, 4001 S. Whitnall Ave., from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial to follow, at 10:30AM. Entombment at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Nels was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Postal Service in 2018, and acheived 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. He adored his Scottish Terriers, his garden and music.
