Nancy E. Leffingwell (Prasser), 86, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and caregivers. Born on April 13, 1938, Nancy lived a life marked by faith, compassion, and a dedication to caring for others - both human and animal.
Preceded in death by her father Erwin J Prasser, her mother Cecelia M (LaVine) her beloved husband, Eugene Leffingwell and her brothers George I Prasser (late Delores), Erwin J 'Jack' Prasser (late Geraldine), and Charles "Chic" Prasser; Nancy is survived by her son, Charles (Cathy) Leffingwell; her grandchildren, Thomas, Sara, and Alex; her brothers-in-law, Robert (Victoria) Leffingwell and Les (Kate) Leffingwell; her nephews: Bob Prasser, Glen Prasser, Ed Prasser, John Leffingwell and their families; and many other extended family members among the Prasser, Leffingwell, and LaVine families, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Nancy's distinguished career as a registered nurse spanned many years and diverse settings, from obstetrics and clinics to hospice care. Her gentle hands and warm heart touched countless lives, leaving an enduring legacy of comfort and healing. Though small in stature, Nancy possessed immense strength of character, integrity, and kindness.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Nancy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She cherished the companionship of her dogs and canaries throughout the years and treasured the moments spent with her loved ones and friends. She held a special place in her heart for the schools she attended as a youngster in the Bay View area. Especially the music programs. She was a woman of quiet strength and faith, her impact on the lives of those she touched will remain a testament to her gentle spirit.
She will be deeply missed by her family and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home (3275 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28th at Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Croix Hospice in Nancy's memory.
