Nancy Jean Christman (Maas) passed away on Wednesday February 17, 2021 at Mitchell Manor in West Allis, Wi. Nancy was born on December 24, 1929. The daughter of Paul and Irene Maas, she was later joined by her younger brother Tom. As a family, the lived in Milwaukee, and ran a curtain cleaning business. She graduated from Messmer High School in the late 40's.
Nancy met Frank Christman at St. Francis CYO in early 1950's. They were married on September 19, 1953. They traveled east for their honeymoon to Niagara Falls. Nancy and Frank had their son, Mike, in 1954. As a family, they visited family in Indiana and sought after fresh eggs at Random Lake.
As a mom, Nancy was a doting mother. She supported her son in his sports and high school career. As he grew up, she prayed fervently for him and his addiction. She rejoiced at his sobriety these last 32 years.
Nancy spent her working years taking care of customers at McDonalds, A&W, and Culvers. After Mike grew up, her jobs kept her busy.
Nancy loved her family dearly and was very proud of all of them. She made special memories on holidays, family events such as weddings, and special trips like to see Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat in Chicago. After Frank passed, she traveled extensively until her she was no longer able to. She remained a doting mother even in her senior years – caring and praying for her all of her family.
Nancy's faith was a very important part of her life. She served as an SSND Associate for a number of years. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in South Milwaukee, Wi. She shared her faith with her family.
Nancy is survived by her son, Michael (Bonnie), her grandsons Mike (Rev. Cathy) and Matt (Kate) and her great-grandsons Xander, Seb, and Baby Boy Xman (on the way). She is remembered by her nephews, Rick and Bob Maas and her sister-in-law Janet Maas. She was pre-deceased by her husband in 1988, and her parents and brother. She is loved and remembered by friends, family and family in faith.
A small service will be held with COVID care in place on Friday February 26, 2021 at 11am at Holy Cross Cemetery in the South Chapel. Visitation will before the service from 10AM to 11AM. Service will be live-streamed. To watch the live stream of the service, please click
