Mitsy Monroy
1989 - 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mitsy Monroy. Mitsy was a radiant soul who lived by the words Carpe Diem, embracing each day with passion, curiosity, and an unshakable commitment to making the world a better place.
She was born in Mexico and raised in Milwaukee. Mitsy carried the warmth of her Midwestern roots wherever she went, most recently calling New York City home. She was a lifelong learner, an avid reader, and a photography enthusiast who saw beauty in the details others often overlooked. Her passion for justice and equality made her a fierce advocate for social change, but it was her kindness, empathy, and boundless love for others that truly defined her.
Mitsy was more than a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt-she was a nurturer in the deepest sense. She had a way of making everyone feel heard, valued, and deeply cared for. Her contagious smile could light up any room, and her laughter was a gift to those lucky enough to share in it. She adored children and played a vital role in the lives of the young ones in her family, always present, always encouraging, always loving.
Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us and the wisdom she shared, the love she spread, and the light she left behind. Mitsy lived fully, loved deeply, and fought passionately for what she believed in. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
