IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Miriam
Lepold
October 2, 1953 – October 16, 2024
Miriam Lepold (nee Kramer)
Passed on peacefully surrounded by her family on October 16, 2024. Preceded in death by her parents, Toba (Schwartz) and Paul Kramer. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Jakub Lepold, children Abby Lepold (Daniel Gergely), Lauren (Steve) Lepold-Schiro, and Josef (Amber) Lepold, and sisters Jane Kramer (Kim Murphy) and Judith Kramer Koret (the late Jerrold Koret). Beloved "Mimo" to Henry, Charlie, Micah, Sasha and Asher. She is further survived by many family and friends.
Miriam was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, and her early childhood was spent in Boston and Pittsburgh. Her family permanently relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1966. She graduated from Shorewood High School in 1971, and was active during her teenage years in the Wisconsin B'nai B'rith Youth Organization where she served as regional president. Born into a family of musicians, Miriam followed her own unique path, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master of Science in Nursing from Saint Xavier University. She dedicated many years to helping others as a compassionate and skilled psychiatric nurse, eventually teaching the next generation of nurses as a professor at Herzing University before her retirement in 2018. In her free time, Miriam enjoyed boating, taking long walks, watching soap operas, and listening to all types of music. She loved Friday fish fry, a nice strong vodka gimlet, and a good cup of tea.
Throughout her life, Miriam wore many hats. Outside of her nursing career, she served as a principal officer at Trier's Popcorn Company alongside her husband, became one of the first female State Farm insurance agents in Wisconsin during the 1970s, and later took on the role of administrator at Maslow, Inc., a property management company that she modernized with computer technology in the 1990s. Perhaps her most important role of all was mom extraordinaire and household CEO, providing her children with unconditional love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her exceptional advice, grounded in both experience and care, was a gift to her family, who will forever cherish her memory.
Miriam's family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the staff of the Lutheran Home Memory Care unit, who provided her with amazing care over the past two years. Donations in Miriam's memory to the Alzheimer's Association Wisconsin Chapter are greatly appreciated.
