Born into Eternal Life on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Age 66 years. Dear father of David and Adam. Soul mate, best friend and loving companion of Kathy Van Handel. Loving brother of Nettie Sorenson, Billy, Nick and Vera (Randy) Vogel. Preceded in death by his parents Prokip and Maria, and brothers John and Jimmy. Further survived by his sister-in-law, Lois Tiutczenko, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Michael served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as part of the 173rd Airborne Division. During his time in Vietnam, he was injured for which he received the Purple Heart and also achieved other medals of honor. Michael was exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam which led to his courageous battle with Leukemia. A special thank you, to Michael's loving son, Adam, for being his stem cell donor.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a part of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally that travels every Memorial Day to the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. Michael also enjoyed golf and was in a Sunday Morning League at Brookfield Hills. During his lifetime he was employed at various companies in the financial industry before opening his own business, AAA Tax and Accounting Services.
Memorial visitation at the Funeral Home on WEDNESDAY May 6, 2015 from 9:30-11:30AM. Memorial Service at 11:30AM. Chaplain Steven Stern officiating. Please join Michael for his "last ride" to Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, for complete Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Leukemia/Lymphoma society are appreciated.
