Michael was preceded in death by his loving parents Kathryn (nee Rickoff) and Norman Dukes and numerous other beloved family and friends. Michael is survived by his sister Kathy Dukes Hubbard, (Craig), his niece Kelly Dukes Hubbard, (Christopher Adams) sister Mary Dukes Hamrick (Bill), and Sando Johnson, a special family member. Further survived by loving in-laws Michael Zaleski, niece Zylea Zaleski Hecht (Bryan), Richard Zaleski, Robert and Cindy Zaleski, nieces Amy Lashore, Kerry Zaleski (Abdul Thoranka) great niece and nephew, Yanten and Zale Thoranka, and Jessica Zaleski. Further survived by loving nieces and nephew (children of the late Sam and Marilyn Giaimo) Mary Giaimo (Paul Metzger), Sue Giaimo (Henry Wend) and special great nephew Sam, he loved time on the TARDIS, Kathy Giaimo (Gary Butler), Mark Giaimo (Usma Khan). Michael was a strong and kind man with many dear friends. He was an Eagle Scout, a proud Marine reservist in the Vietnam era, he carried lessons learned in those endeavors and lived them throughout his life. He started out as a Junior member of South Shore Yacht Club at a young age, after finding a dear friend in Gary Hughes. Michael stayed with his passion for SSYC, sailing and the water, he served on the board of directors in many capacities over many years, aged into Life Membership and served as Past Commodore of South Shore Yacht Club. He was a founding and Life Member of Rent-A-Party. Michael was very proud to be a member of the TARDIS syndicate with dear friends Jane and Dave Durment, John Archibald and Helen (Cookie) Mueller. For many years (38) they raced the TARDIS to many wins and gathered mountains of trophies. Over those years TARDIS and crew enjoyed a reputation for winning, outstanding spirit and commitment to Corinthian sailing. They might also be known as a good time gang a post-race crew, helping to get the party started! Everyone was welcomed on the TARDIS to participate in a casual sail, sail race or just a good time! The TARDIS Syndicate fostered many new, passionate sailors, good friends and competitors. Michael and LeeAnne made their home in Lake Country many years ago where they also cultivated deep friendships that became part of their Lake Country family and endure to this day. There he squeezed out time to share LeeAnne's passion for gardening and country life. Including keeping chickens, peacocks, a goat and many dogs over the years. Large picnics were held, all their friends, lake shore and lake country, would come together for a party and they were something to look forward to! Blessings were counted by the number of signatures in the guest book! The late Linda Naylor was always there to help prep the house for the party! The Christmas Party was another annual party to be enjoyed by all who could make it. Michael is and will be deeply missed by his family and the many who were touched by him being part of their life and he theirs. Special friends and family were the Naylor family, the gang at Hansen's, especially "Boo" Mike's pizza and Coke purveyor (beer too) and advisor, Roman and Steve Hart. Always welcome to their home and always ready to assist at their home. Michael retired from The Marcus Corporation in 2013 after a career in a range of Technology Solutions positions. Memorials to Fischer House, Alzheimer's Association or SSYC Junior Foundation, charity of your choice if inclined Our thanks to the kind caregivers and medical team at Froedtert Hospital of Milwaukee, Zilber Hospice and to Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home for their assistance. Private services were held.
