IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marissa A.
Mueller
July 1, 1982 – September 11, 2024
Marissa Ann Mueller (née Niemann Heath)
Passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2024, leaving behind her three beloved sons. A true warrior, Marissa was known for her fearless spirit, boundless confidence, and natural beauty. Her exceptional talent and intelligence were matched only by her deep compassion and unwavering love for her family and friends. Marissa had a unique ability to bring people together and fill their lives with joy, laughter, and a profound sense of value and connection. Her appreciation for nature and music reflected her vibrant and soulful personality, and her laughter was a cherished melody that will resonate in our hearts forever.
As a child, growing up in Ann Arbor, MI., she made friends easily. Early on she enjoyed a vibrant youth group at church, Girl Scouts, and membership in the Ann Arbor Youth Chorale. As a young teen she spent two years in the Dominican Republic serving with her family as Volunteers in Service Abroad (VISA); coordinating medical teams, construction teams, and teaching ESL. She thrived as a member of an expatriate homeschooling community, learned dressage from the national dressage champion at the nearby equestrian center, and picked up conversational Spanish from her cherished Dominican friends and neighbors. This experience fostered within her an openness towards others different from herself, empathy for those less fortunate, and humility in heart and mind. After high school, Marissa attended Teen Mania where she became a member of their traveling ministry team, visiting churches across the country and performing musically. The following two years were spent at Biola University in La Mirada, CA. where she attended class and participated in their outreach on Skid Row in Los Angeles.
After returning to Ann Arbor, Marissa married and moved to Clintonville, WI. and had 3 wonderful boys. Marissa led worship at the church she attended for several years, and fished at every available opportunity. She kept a fishing pole in her car all the time, and even snuck out at lunch whenever she could, to throw in a line.
She attended The University of Wisconsin/ Green Bay, and finished her Bachelor of Social Work, and worked in this capacity for several years. Eventually she returned to UWGB for her Master's degree. And shortly thereafter, as a certified Psychotherapist, she opened Integrated Therapy Services. Marissa touched many lives as a compassionate and skilled therapist, and was well on her way to making a big difference in the community she served.
Marissa was a guiding light, always focused on what truly mattered eschewing superficial pursuits. Her relentless pursuit of growth and her immeasurable love for her family and friends defined her existence. Though she is no longer with us, Marissa's legacy of love will continue to uplift, challenge and inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. The world has indeed lost one of its best, and while words may fall short, and rationale may escape us, Marissa's spirit and her impact will never be forgotten.
