Maria D. Mercado

Born to Eternal Life on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 73 years. Beloved wife of the late Ramiro Mercado. Loving mom of Ramiro Mercado, Angel Mercado, Rosalba Mercado, Sergio Mercado, Irene Mercado, Javier Mercado, Ricardo Mercado and Maria D. Mercado. Cherished grandma of Lorena, Moises, Carmen, Leticia, Ramiro and Alma Delia; Mark, Jesus, Diana and Karen; Armando, Ramiro and Yaneth; Osvaldo, Sergio Jr., Antonio and Antonia; Abigail and Nicky; Xavier; Ary and Nayeli; Bridgit, Arnulfo Jr., Ulysses and Axel. Dear great-grandmother of Evelyn and Natalia; Emiliano; Sebastian and Maite; Ruben. Adored sister of Felimon, Jose, Socorro, Angelina, Gloria, Anita, the late Maria Felix, Esperanza, Eluterio, Martin and Regulo. Further by many nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends.

Visitation at the Funeral Home Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 4-8 PM. Visitation also Friday 11AM - 12 Noon at St. John Paul II Parish - St. Alexander Church, 1568 W. Holt Ave. Milwaukee. Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.

Maria was born and raised in Rancho La Esperanza, Cuquio, Jalisco in Mexico. She and her husband Ramiro were married in January 24, 1968. In 1995 she moved to Milwaukee to be her husband and several of their children. She worked for over 19 years at Patrick Cudahy. She enjoyed going on walks, swimming, cooking for her family especially making birria on New Year's Day, raspado, playing el burro vendido and wild festival amusement rides. Maria enjoyed talking on the phone for hours on end with her family here and in Mexico. She also looked forward to family returning from visiting Mexico and bringing her favorite treat Alfajor.
