Obituary

Of Racine, Found peace on January 31, 2012, age 68 years. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 19, 1943, the daughter of the late Angelita Gonzales (nee Carranza). Margaret graduated from Washington Park High School. On October 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Vicente Gonzalez. Loving mother of Vincent E. Gonzalez and Diana (Brad) Solomon. Cherished grandmother of Julia, Brent and Alexis. Dear sister of Estella (the late Epolito) Malacara, Arturo (Linda Garcia) Gonzales, Jane (Louie Motley) Cowart, Angelita (Frank) Schmidt and the late Maria "Lupe" Gonzales. Dear sister-in-law of Hermelinda (the late Enrique) Vasquez, Irma (Jorge) Correa, Adela (Arnulfo) Rodriguez and the late Valentine (Juanita) Gonzalez. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Margaret received an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from Gateway Technical College. She received her CPS (Certified Professional Secretary) in 1988. She worked 32 years at Twin Disc as an administrative assistant, retiring in 2009. During her years at Twin Disc, Margaret helped decorate the Twin Disc floats for the 4th of July Parades and their trees for the Festival of Trees. Margaret was a member of the Racine Chapter of International Association of Assistant Professionals, IAAP (formally Professional Secretaries International, PSI) from June 1980 until May 2009. She was very active in the organization, holding many committee chairs and offices - serving as President in 1991/92, and Wisconsin Division Annual Meeting Chair in 2001. A special thank you to all the wonderful and caring people at Franciscan Gardens and Odyssey Hospice. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, February 3, 2012, 4-8 PM, prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation also on Saturday, 9-9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., Racine. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
