Obituary

Margaret R. Boerner (nee Carrara) Margaret was born to Italian immigrants, Pio and Olga Carrara on April 19th 1941 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She grew up on Milwaukee's east side with her beloved siblings Norma and Robert. She developed a passion for traveling, visiting places such as New York and staying at a dude ranch out west. She later married Edward (Ned) Boerner Jr. and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Cynthia Ann. For many years she was consistently a President's Club level Avon Representative and a proud Girl Scout Troop co-leader, excelling at whatever she put her heart into. She found comfort and joy in her family and cherished her grandchildren profoundly. You could often find her volunteering at school functions, attending their extra-curricular events or participating in a myriad of activities with them such as Wave games, movie days and lemonade stands. She had a passion and natural talent for cooking, which she shared with all of her friends and family. Her God-given talent lives on through her youngest grandchild, Jacquelyn, whom she adored cooking with. Her passion and generosity of spirit toward her family and those she loved were unmatched and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward (Ned) Boerner Jr. sister Norma Cassata (the late Mario), sister-in-law Ann Carrara and nephew John Carrara. Her memory and spirit live on through her daughter Cynthia Boerner-Kuhr (Jerome Kuhr), grandchildren Rachael, Andrew and Jacquelyn, her brother Robert Carrara and her niece Lisa Carrara (David Hahn) and other extended family and friends. Margaret Rose Boerner, revered wife, beloved daughter, treasured sister, cherished mother, loved aunt and adored grandmother, admired friend, found peace in the arms of the Lord on Saturday, September 25th, with her daughter at her side. A private service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Fisher House – Milwaukee VA (P.O. Box 13768 Milwaukee WI 53226) would be appreciated. A special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Clement Manor, Kim (Optum), and Kimberly and Heartland Hospice for your compassionate care and support.
