(nee Vehar) Passed away peacefully on August 1, 2014 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of Salvatore "Sam" Purpero. Dearest mother of Catherine (Phil) Roszak, Susan (Mike) Oszuscik, Margaret (Tim) Kezman, Phillip Purpero, Mary (John) Nordstrom, Christina Purpero (Glenn Michael). Treasured grandmother "Grandma Lu" of Thomas (Cadie), Brian, Matthew, Laura Roszak; Michael, Stacy Oszuscik; Steven, Jennifer Kezman; Salvatore, Alena, Andrew Purpero; and Zachary, Madeline Nordstrom. Special great-grandmother of Carson, Reagan Roszak. Lucille was also a very special sister-in-law and aunt "Auntie Lu" to our family and a special friend to many.
Lucille was born in Powhatan Point, Ohio, and came to Milwaukee as a young girl with her parents, Mary and Phil Farano. She grew up in the 1st Ward and graduated in the class of '53 with honors from Lincoln High School where she met Sam, the love of her life and devoted husband for the past 58 years this August 11th.
Lu was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; she was the heart and soul of her family. Lu was very proud of her family and showed her love in so many ways; she made the best spaghetti & meatball dinners, she was the best gift-giver ever, she always remembered every special occasion in each of our lives, she made the holidays special, she was the best to talk to with understanding and humor and she was always there for us. We will miss her dearly.
