Lucia Gómez (nee Verdin) was born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Antonio Gomez. Loving mother of Ana Maria (Jacob), Jerardo (Kris), Eloisa, Fidel, Adrian (Dotie), Alicia and Pilar (Juan). Dear grandmother of Brian, Rebecca, Rosa, Mario, Kathleena, Antonio, Victoria, Leigha, Angelique, Joseph, Rachel, Javier, Ricardo, David, Jacob, Margaret, Andres, Sean, Bianca, Juan Carlos, Tomas and Miguel. Dear great-grandmother of Alyssa, Lacey, Zach, Nick, Dustin, Emilio, Maile, Liam, Eliana, Sebastian, Keegan, Kendall, Victor, Eden, Ronan, Anthony, Matthew, Nathan, Landon, Cameron, Oisin, Mateo, Izabela and Sophia. Great-great-grandmother of Leo, Madeline, Liliana and Gabriella. Further survived by other family members and friends.

Lucia was the matriarch of the Gómez family. She loved her role as family nurturer and was a friend to many. She and her husband, Tony, shared many wonderful years together and were loving parents to seven children and their extensive network of friends. Even well into her '80s, she attended as many of the grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, religious services and award ceremonies as possible. She was their number one fan.

Lucia loved her many nieces and nephews and their children and was always interested in being a part of their lives. Her many other relatives were very special to her as well.

In her final years, she was always grateful for the phone calls, the visits, and the cards that came from family and friends. Staying connected in these ways brought Lucia happiness. We thank the Aurora Hospice team of Laura and Linda for the care and attention provided to our mother.

Lucia is now reunited with her brothers and sisters: Raquel, Angelo, Gabriel, Natalia and Maria; her parents, Guadalupe and Rosendo Verdin and her husband, Tony.

Memorial Visitation Monday, October 2, 2023 10:30AM to 1:30PM with a Memorial Service at 1:30PM. Private interment at a later date.
