Airoldi, Lorna M. "Danny" (nee Danielsen) Lorna was born in Washington State on March 1, 1916, and grew up on Vashon Island. Shortly after she graduated as a registered nurse from Tacoma General Hospital she relocated to Milwaukee to begin her nursing career at the Veteran's Hospital at Woods. With the event of WW2, Lorna enlisted in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. as a 1st Lieutenant. On April 3, 1945, she married the late Angelo C. Airoldi in Commercy, France. After the war, Lorna and Angelo lived in Milwaukee until 1979 when they retired to Sun City, AZ. Lorna resided in St. Paul, MN. for the last six years even after losing he vision, continued her position as librarian with Oak Meadows. Lorna was recently decorated with the Jubilee of Liberty Medal for her role in the Normandy invasion. Lorna passed away peacefully on December 15, 2005 at the age of 89. Lorna is further survived by four children: Michael (Joan) Airoldi, Everson, WA.; Susan (Bruce) Johnson, Arden Hills, MN., Ruth (Robert) Stark, Lake Geneva, WI.; Angela (Frank) Strantz, Mohtomedi, MN.;9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
