Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Age of 88 years. Lonnie was married to the love of his life, Maryle for 61 plus years. Proud loving father of Connie Ehr and Todd (Carol) Peterson. Loving gramps of Kiersten, Juli (Tom), Billy, Kathy and great granddaughter Alyssa. Survived his brother William (Donna) Peterson and many other family members and friends. Preceded in death by his brothers Edward, Jack, his twin brother Laurie, sisters Ruthie and Trudy. His parents Thilda and Edward also precede him.
His family moved from Minnesota to Milwaukee in 1942. He co-owned Peterson's Friendly Pate Service Station in West Allis and later West Allis Auto Electric. Further employment at Gateway Trucking, Graf's Beverage and retired from ASI in Orlando, FL. He always enjoyed his convertibles, golfing, bowling and loved to tell about the time he rolled a 299. But the joys in his heart came from his wonderful family. Lonnie was in the Air Force Reserves proudly serving in the U.S. Army in the 11th Armored Calvary Border Patrol in Germany. He loved his Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Lonnie will be remembered as an avid Wisconsin sports fan. He was a gifted artist, a hardworking man and will be missed by all who knew him. His family would like to thank all the caregivers and staff at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, St. Francis Place and Compassus Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, memorial in Lonnie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Wisconsin Southeast Chapter.
