Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Lisa J. Pero, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Lisa proudly served her country in the United States Navy for many years before continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others through her work with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. She earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and formed lifelong friendships wherever she went.

Although born in Milwaukee, Lisa spent the majority of her life in La Mesa, CA, where she built lasting friendships with people who became family. Her kindness, generous spirit, and unwavering love touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Lisa’s family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her mother, Audrey; her siblings, Kim, Edward, Anthony (Heather), Jodi (Barbara), and Frank; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Lisa also treasured the many lifelong friendships she built throughout her life and considered many of those dear friends part of her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sr., and her brother, Robert Jr.

Lisa’s strong, kind, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of selfless service, devotion to family, and compassion for others will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Services will be held AT THE FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 with Visitation from 10:30AM to 1:30PM and Memorial Service to follow at 1:30PM. Inurnment to be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Now Blood Cancer United, Inc).
