Found Eternal Peace on Sunday July, 27, 2014, at the age of 87. Reunited with his beloved daughter, Kathryn, who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Esther (nee Dittmann). Devoted father of Richard (Barbara), Robert (Lisa), Diane Begos (William). Grateful father-in-law of Steven Sullivan. Dear brother of Doris Babka and the late Mary Roberts. Proud "Gramps" of Andrew, Ryan, Benjamin (Jen), Stephanie (Randy), RaeLynn, and Sofia. Great Grandpa of Liam, Weston and Patrick. Captain Lewis J. Lewis devoted over 31 years of service to the St. Francis Fire Department. As the primary Training Officer, he mentored many firefighters and initiated fire safety trainings for citizens and organizations in the community. He was also a member of the Milwaukee County Association of Training. He retired on March 30, 1986. Lewis is an Army Veteran, serving his Country during WWII. He is a member of American Legion Post #299. A "Life Member" of the St. Francis Lions Club and a future recipient of the International Lions "Melvin Jones Award". Lewis and his wife Esther are members of St. Marks Ev. Lutheran Church of Cudahy. Memorial Visitation at the Funeral Home on Monday August 11, 2014, 4:00-6:00 PM.
