December 30, 2022 at the age of 93 years. Born in Stevens Point on July 24, 1929 to the late Theordore B. and Clara (Weronke) Wanta. Brother of the late Jerome and Rita (the late Kenneth) Korleski of Rockton, IL. Uncle of Deborah Bates, Portland, OR; Sandra (James) Aspland, Rockton, IL; Karen Korleski, Rockford, IL; the late Mary Korleski; Jody (James) Hoard, Roscoe, IL; and Tracy (Mark) Yagle, Rockton, IL. Also survived by grand nieces and grand nephews; a great-grand niece and nephew.
He was a veteran who served in the US Army 369th Engineer Amphibious Support Regiment, from 1951 to 1953.
Earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from UW Madison in 1956. Pursued his interests in public and industrial accounting. Became a Certified Public Accountant in 1962. Retired from Trace-A-Matic Corporation, as financial controller, in 1994.
Leonard enjoyed extensive travel, reading and in retirement he worked on family genealogy and volunteered at St. Luke's Medical Center and his church.
Visitation Friday, January 6, 2023 from 10-11 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3100 W. Parnell Ave. Milwaukee. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Private inurnment Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point, WI.
