Although she suffered from severe dementia and daily events could not be remembered, the past was her happiest place. She told stories of her job using shorthand and transcribing from a Dictaphone all while reciting and keying the letters as if on a typewriter. She enjoyed celebrating her 100th birthday party and viewing her life story on a special DVD and even sang us her high school fight song. She graduated from Bay View High School class of January 1932.
The family would like to thank St. Clare Terrace Assisted Living for their loving care and we especially thank Paula the activity director, Cheri the dietician, and Maria one of many caregivers, all of whom provided her exceptional care for over 13 years. We also wish to thank Milwaukee Family Care. Finally, many "Thanks" to Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee and the loving staff of the LEAD ward, who in the short time that she was there, took her into their hearts. A special "Thank you" to Vitas Hospice Care for providing peaceful and comforting care to our mother / grandmother in her final weeks.
