Peacefully passed into the Lord's loving arms on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Thaddeus Mostowik for 42 years. Dear daughter of the late Manda Riegler and Adam Muszynski. Loving sister of the late Shirley Schoofs. Precious mother of the late Michael Mostowik. Beloved daughter-in-law of the late Thomas and Josephine Mostowik. Proud godmother of Shari (Schoofs) Stepanovich.
Leona is survived by her sons Thomas Mostowik, James (Susan) Mostowik and Patrick (Kathleen) Mostowik. She is the proud grandmother of Christopher (Erin) Mostowik, Gina (Nick) Peterson and Brian Mostowik. Loving great-grandmother to Derek Spaid, Madison and Abigail Mostowik, and Maggie Rose Peterson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Among Leona's various places of employment were American Motors, Meyers of Cudahy, Boston Store and she was a seamstress at Junior House for 21 years. When she was younger, she looked forward every summer to going to her sister's cottage on Little Green Lake to fish and relax with family. Leona was an excellent cook and seamstress, famous for her delicious potato salads and Polish kielbasa, which she was often asked to make for gatherings. She learned to make Polish sausage from her mother, and continued to make it for years with the family antique sausage stuffer. She loved to play Bingo and cards. She thoroughly enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and going to their life events. She loved Christmas with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She inherited her love for Christmas from her father who always made that holiday very special for his family. Leona loved to go to theme parks with family members, especially Disney World. She will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday, July 1, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Memorial Prayer Service at 5:00 P.M.
