Born to Eternal Life on Friday, May 10, 2013 age 92 years. Beloved husband for 55 years to the late Lois (nee Zawerton). Loving father of Todd Michalek. Le Roy is further survived by other family members and friends. Funeral Services Thursday, May 16, 2013 11:00AM at HOLY SEPULCHER CEMETERY, 3800 E. College Ave., Cudahy. Entombment and Military Honors to follow. Le Roy survived the November 14, 1942 sinking of the Destroyer Escort USS Preston (DD-379) in the "Slot" off Guadalcanal, in the Third Battle of Savo Island. He was a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and also the Disabled American Veterans. Le Roy enjoyed yard work, gardening, socializing, dining out, Milwaukee festivals, attending art events, lectures dealing with international to local topics and spending time with his family.
