IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laverne Ruth
Schoba
October 11, 1929 – December 9, 2023
(nee Patzfahl) Went up North to be with her husband Jacob on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Age 94 years. As a devoted mother, LaVerne leaves behind her cherished children, Janet (Ken) Orlikowski, Michael (Sandy) Schoba, and Cindy (Paul) McKenna. She was predeceased by her children Cathy Schoba, Lori Schoba-Haight, and Mark Schoba. LaVerne's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren Jacob and Josh (fiancee Erin Jennings) Orlikowski, Karen (Duncan) Seagle, Kathleen (Matt) Cohen, Kendra Haight (Joe Triana), Jim (Cassie) Schoba, Adam (Megan), Michael, Erik (Tracy), and Matthew McKenna. She will also be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren Celeste and Lydia; Emily, Avaley, Aubrey, and Noah; Josie and Jacob; Kaylen, Brielle, and Weston; as well as Ripley and Ryker. Dear sister-in-law of Patricia Wentland. Loved and remembered by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
LaVerne was born and raised in the Bay View Area and graduated from Bay View High School in 1948. In 1953, she united in marriage with her beloved husband, Jacob, building a lifetime of beautiful memories together. While raising her children, LaVerne dedicated her time to creating a nurturing home environment, but as her children grew older, she joined the workforce and worked at Gardetto's Bakery. LaVerne took great delight in traveling, shopping, and knitting, but above all, she treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in LaVern's name may be made to the charity of one's choice. Her family would like to thank the Aurora At Home Hospice for their wonderful care and tender support. Special thanks to Andrea, Jackie, Megan and Matt.
LaVerne will forever be remembered as a loving mother, a joyful grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother. Her memory will remain etched in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know her. Although her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit and love will continue to guide and inspire us in the days ahead.
