Passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his sleep on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at age 61. Loving husband of Linda (nee Vohla). Dear dad of Diane (Kyle) Gunby, Melissa (Adam) Balfanz, and Jennifer Balfanz. Proud grandpa of Jameson and Lucas Gunby. Beloved son of Arnold (the late Diane) Balfanz. Dear brother of Karen Balfanz, Christine Cajigas and David (Debra) Balfanz. Also loved by nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
During his youth, Ken was known for playing soccer, swimming, and getting into shenanigans with his childhood friends. After graduating from Bay View High School in 1977, Ken went on to obtain a Timber Harvesting degree and worked as a lumberjack. Later, he became an accomplished cabinet maker and woodworker.
After marrying Linda in 1985, Ken had three daughters with whom he shared his many interests and talents. Later he was excited to welcome two grandchildren into his life that brought him endless joy. He was known in his family to be a jack of all trades, but a master of none. These included talents and interests in electrical, plumbing, woodworking, furniture restoration, fishing, hunting, bowling, quilting, volunteering, cooking, baking and coaching, among many others. He will be remembered by those who knew him best as a man that had a zest for life.
