Kay Mather

Born Mary Catherine but known as and loved by many as Kay Mather. Born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Age 88 years. Beloved wife of the late William Mather who passed away in 1977. Loving mom of Elaine (Peter Schmidt) Mather and David (Laurie) Mather. Cherished grandmother of Ryan Mather, Amanda Mather and Paige (Ian) Rutter. Adored "GG Kay" of MJ and Odin; Ronin and Oliver. Dear sister of Suzanne (Thomas) Deckow and the late Margaret (the late Harold) Osuchowski. Kay is preceded in death by her parents Felix and Agnes Paprocki, siblings-in-law of John (the late Betty) Mather, Jean (the late Joe) Pedersen and Robert Mather. Adored niece of Marian Brandt. She will also be missed by her nephews and nieces Trudy Hundt and Kathy Deckow-Gacek and Holly Deckow; Rich Pedersen, Robert Pedersen, Patrick Pedersen, Sally Filak Patti Mather, Jim Mather, Mike Mather and Peggy Mather; Jeanne Mather Gibbs, Joe Mather and Richard Mather. Further survived by other family member and many dear friends.

Born and raised in Milwaukee Kay was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. After school Kay worked as in a clerical position at Motor Transport. She then went on to work for the State of Wisconsin. Kay left the work force to raise her family but returned shortly after her husband's passing in 1977. For approximately 32 years, Kay spent at St. Paul Catholic Church and grade school as the parish / school secretary.

Through out her life Kay enjoyed vegetable gardening with her late husband, ornamental gardening and house plants, reading, listening to classical music and keeping a tidy house. She will be remembered for her endearing personality, ability to create rapport and personally connect with people.

Visitation at Friday, June 13, 2025 from 9-11 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 3635 S Kinnickinnic Ave, St. Francis. Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Private entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Kay's name to your favorite charity.
