"Kathy"

Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024. Age 77 years. Loving mom of AnnMarie (Robert) Hofsteadter and Brian (Michelle) Thomas. Dear sister of Judy (Peter) Schurrer. Adored aunt of Valerie (Paul) Kranz, Karrie Hansen and Brad (Brooke) Schurrer. Kathy is preceded in death by her former husband John Thomas and parents Bert and Ethel Savorias and her beloved long hair mini-dachshund Emma. She is also survived by other family and friends.

Kathy was born in Milwaukee and raised in Bay View. She attended Fernwood Elementary and graduated from Bay View High School Class of 1965. Kathy grew up in Lake Band playing the clarinet and was in the color guard. She also was in the Bay View High School Band. Kathy began her working career at Heilig-Meyers Furniture near Chicago and later U.S. Bank. She raised her family in the Chicago suburbs but returned to her family home in 1996. Kathy was a proud member of the Oneida Nation and later in life took up the art of basket weaving. She enjoyed traveling and selling her art under the name First Design. Kathy even has her art displayed in the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis and the Herd Museum in Phoenix. Some of the things Kathy loved the most in life were the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Chocolate. She will be best remembered by her children for her sense of humor and sassy nature. In lieu of flowers, memorial in Kathy's name may be made to the

AIDS Foundation of Chicago.

Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, November 8, 2024 from 9:30 - 11AM. Funeral Service at 11AM. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
