(nee Retzlaff), age 61, of Austin, TX (formerly of Milwaukee) passed away peacefully in her home Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 with her loving husband and friend by her side. Beloved wife of Jeff Rothmeier. Loving mother of Valencia (Scott) Pollnow, Michael Scherman (fiancée Chyloe Raemisch) and Marisa Scherman. Cherished grandmother of Adrianne White, Ashli Williams, Christine, Katherine and Jacob Pollnow. Dear daughter of Wilma Retzlaff. Fond sister of Linda Retzlaff. Caring step-mother of Ross (Vicki) Rothmeier and Kris (Susan) Voss-Rothmeier. Also survived by other family and many dear friends. She is preceded in everlasting life by Norwood Retzlaff, Michael Retzlaff and Charles Prasser. Kathy had a passion for life and made close friends wherever she went. She received her greatest joy from family, friends, children, music and giving to others. She was a gifted violinist and was honored to be the first woman violinist in the symphony orchestra of Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Kathy was a dedicated elementary school teacher while she lived in Milwaukee and was a court appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system in Austin, TX. Kathy was devoted to improving every child's life she touched. Relatives and friends may gather for a time of sharing on SUN. 2-4 PM at the Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM. Burial of Cremated Remains MON. 1 PM at Arlington Park Cemetery.
