Beres, Kathleen "Kay" (nee Emerson) Died peacefully and was Born to Eternal Life on Friday, May 20, 2016. Age 75 years. Preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend of 49 years Thomas W. Beres. Cherished mom of Michael Beres, Catherine (Will) Vanderhoef, and Elizabeth (Clayton) Kriese. Devoted grandma of Tom, Allie, Maddie, Sami, Charlize and Shane. Dear sister of Judy (Ken) Anhalt, Tom (Dodie) Emerson, and Bill (Teresa) Emerson. Dear sister-in-law of Karen Beres. Treasured aunt of Jamie and Katie Jo. Special cousin of Kathy Carlton. Preceded in death by her parents William and Mae Emerson. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends. Memorial Visitation Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 3:30 5 PM at ST. ALPHONSUS CHURCH 6060 W. Loomis Rd. Greendale. Mass of Christian Burial at 5 PM. Kay was a classroom teacher for St. Augustine of Hippo, Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Alphonsus church schools. After retirement, Kay enjoyed being a reading supportive consultant. She also volunteered at St. Alphonsus, St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care and Howard Village. She was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, an usher at the Children's Symphony and served as a member of the Board of Directors at St. Thomas More High School during the co-ed transition. Kay lived a very active life and enjoyed traveling, hiking and water aerobics. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Ann Center or St. Alphonsus School are appreciated.
