Kathleen Ann Harrass

On April 18th, Kathleen Ann Harrass entered her eternal rest following a battle with colon cancer (but that's not the whole story. In the past two years Kathy dealt with diverticulitis induced exploding intestines, an ICU stay caused by sepsis after her first dose of chemo, a shattered femur, and the death of the love of her life, Greg Harrass. Cancer may have won this war, but that victory comes with the biggest possible asterisk.). She is survived by her son, Kelly Harrass, and her large furry cat son, Skaar.

Kathy refused to be defined by her health struggles. She did everything she could to continue living life in the way she enjoyed. Ultimately, Kathy enjoyed living the life of a hermit. It wasn't so much the solitude she sought. She was happy to while away her days watching an unending list of TV shows and tackling the mighty mountain of books she accumulated over the years. This quality was absolutely passed down to Kelly.

Those that knew Kathy for years or even for just a few minutes knew her as a cheerful woman. In her later years it wasn't uncommon for various nurses or doctors to remark to Kelly about how good natured and kind Kathy was even after all she had been through. That was just her; kind in a world that so often wasn't.

There were so many things in this life that Kathy loved. She loved food and cooking (not just the physical act of cooking, but learning the process of it). She loved comic books. Kelly wouldn't be the comic fan he is today without her. To the very end she kept up with her favorite characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Gambit. Another love she passed down to Kelly was pro wrestling. They watched countless numbers of shows together over the years. Her all time favorite wrestlers were Bret Hart and the Young Bucks. There are many Ring of Honor shows that happened in Milwaukee where you can see the Harrass family cheering on the Bucks from the crowd.

Kathy never saw a cute thing that she didn't want. Adorable little figures litter the house with Hello Kitty and Rilakkuma being two of her biggest collections. Upon reflection, Kelly sure was predisposed to several expensive hobbies because of Kathy. It was all worth it though. The mother-son relationship these two had was truly special. Above all else, Kathy loved her family. Greg and Kelly loved her back. Now Kathy and Greg are back together and Kelly will hold onto that love for the rest of his days.

In Kathy's honor, Kelly asks that you either start reading a book you've had in your pile for months or buy yourself something cute that you don't really need. You deserve it.

There will be a Visitation at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Private Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
