Karen Marie Philleo (nee Tanger), passed away peacefully at the age of 90, surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Karen is survived by her loving children, Debbie (Bob) Sheridan, Jeff (Chrissy) Philleo, and Jim (Pam) Philleo; cherished grandchildren, Corinne (Nick) Philleo, Craig Philleo, Stephanie (Andrew) Budnik, Nicole Sheridan, Joe Philleo, Kate (Jason) Julius, and Corey Philleo; blessed great-grandchildren, Skyla Philleo, Ellieblue Philleo, Remy Philleo, Owen Budnik, Lincoln Schroeder Sheridan, Ryker Philleo, Olivia Budnik, Elena Budnik, and Penelope Julius; great-great-granddaughter Ila Ordonez, and her sister Mary Alice (the late Richard) Szymkowiak. Karen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Philleo, her parents, Howard and Christine Tanger (nee Barbian), and her siblings Dywyd (Shirley) Tanger and June (the late Robert) Bacheldor. Karen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, brother/sister-in-laws, and other family and friends, particularly Charlotte Larson, and her many friends at Layton Terrace.

Having a generous spirit, Karen spent her time volunteering at St. Ann’s and the Wilson Park Center. In her free time she was a league bowler, she enjoyed playing bingo and card games with friends, and working on various crafting projects, being an avid quilter, and having a love for sewing, knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. Karen had a very bright and social personality that will surely be missed by all the hearts she touched.

Private services will be held to be followed by burial at Arlington Park Cemetery.
