Juanita Ann Swan Born to Eternal Life and reunited with her beloved husband, Phillip J. Swan on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Age 84 years. Loving mother of John R. (Linda) Herrera and Nancy (Michael) Meyers. Cherished grandmother of Kimberly Hofstetter, Dana (Fabian) Wind, Gavin Herrera, Phillip Meyers and Caitlin Meyers. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents Gavino and Elizabeth (nee Taylor) Lemon and her brothers Dominick, John and Tony. She is further survived by special family friend Michael Castillo, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Always a perfectionist, Juanita worked most of her life as a seamstress for many upscale boutiques in the Milwaukee area including The Grand, Hixons and Malloys, and in her own basement. She especially loved working on wedding gowns and took pride in making her customers look their very best. Throughout her life, Juanita was the life of the party - always a smile on her face and love in her heart, she made everyone feel welcome and appreciated. She expressed kindness and compassion for everyone she met, always putting others before herself and she was an advocate for those in need. In addition to sewing, she had a passion for cooking, entertaining, traveling, and above all, spending time with family here and in Minnesota. Juanita was a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. She was truly a special lady and example of the type of person we should all strive to be. Although she will be missed by her family and many friends, she will always live on in their hearts and remembered dearly. Her family would like to thank the staffs of CLE-Haven and Heartland Hospice for their tender care and support.
