Johnson, Joyce K. (nee Jacobson), of Milwaukee, found peace surrounded by her loving family, on August 31, 2015 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stewart S. Johnson, and grandson Mark S. Johnson. Born and raised in Upper Michigan, she left home to work in Milwaukee at age 18. While in Milwaukee she met her future husband in the five and ten-cent store; they went on to spend the next 50 years together. As part of the "Greatest Generation" she worked hard both outside and inside the home raising 5 children: Stewart S. (Ellen Marie), Jacqueline (James) Rudig, Laura Johnson, Patricia Johnson (the late Tom Dishaw) and Neil (Julie) Johnson. Grandmother of: Randal (Lyndsay) Johnson, Kelly (Matt) Becker, Julie and Michael Rudig, Erik, Hailey, Steven and Emilia Johnson. Great grandmother of: Myles, Logan, Grace, Silas, Natalia and Mela. Sister of: Gordon (Debbie) Jacobson, Evelyn Burkman and Mary Lee Gibbons. Dear friend of: Barbara Martinez and DoDo Szofer. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Joyce was a 45 year member of Unity Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a member of Unity's Active Adult Center. She was a talented artist who shared many of her paintings and other artistic creations with others. She deeply loved and cared for her family and will be forever missed.
