Obituary

Smith, Joseph H. "Buddy" Passed away at home on November 3, 2015, age 90 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, who referred to him as her "Ever-lovin Joe", his step-son Mark, his parents, sister, Catherine, and brother, Don. Loving father of Leslie Ann and Kathy. Dear grandfather of Analisa, Andrew (Valerie) and Katherine. He will be remembered and missed by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation on SATURDAY, November 7th, 2015 from, 9:30-11:00 AM at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, 1212 South 117th St., West Allis. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment and Military Honors to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Joe proudly and passionately served his country in the Unites States Army Air Corp during WWII and received the Bronze Star. He was past Commander of Stenz-Griesell Smith Post No. 449, American Legion and an advocate for patriotism. He graduated from Leighton School of Art and worked as an artist and lithographer for Readers Digest; he also designed the original Kleenex tissue box. Joe was very blessed to have his longtime caregivers and the family would like to thank Philip, Peter, Glenn, Chelsea, Barbara and Melissa and Seasons Hospice for their care. A special thank you to the Milwaukee VA as well. Their superb kindness helped Joseph celebrate his 90th birthday at home. Without them it could not have happened.
