Purpero, Joseph Charles Peppy Passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Serafina (nee Emanuele), siblings Carl (the late Peggy), Tony (the late Lillian) and Caroline McGowan and brother-in-law Jake (Sharone) Zielke. Beloved husband of the late Betty-Jane (nee Zielke). Cherished dad of Joseph Michael (Christine) Purpero, Cynthia (Nancy Omdahl) Purpero, Ted (Kathy) Purpero and Lisa (Scott) Ebert. Papa Hoppy to Vincent (Betsy) Purpero, Tina (Rob) Weist, Jessie (Neal) Levin, Wes (Lauren) Combs, Joseph Jeremiah (Elena Coria) Purpero, Sara Purpero, Frank Rosas and his 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Visitation also Friday 10-11AM at Bay View United Methodist Church, 2772 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. Funeral Services at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery. Joseph was a retiree of Ladish Co and volunteered at St. Lukes Medical Center. He sang in the Florentine Opera Chorus and Cudahy Methodist Church Choir. Joseph and Betty were Lake Band parents. He was a member of Lake Lodge #189 F&AM, Wisconsin Scottish Rite Bodies, the Tripoli Shrine Temple and the SPAHIS. Joseph served in 128th Air Refueling Wing of Wisconsin Air National Guard. His family would like to thank Sharyn, Alice, LaToya, Norma, the staff of Autumn Oakes and Hometown Hospice for their care and compassion.
