Died peacefully and entered into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the age of 83. Beloved husband and best friend of Josephine "JoJo" (nee Walczak) for 61 years. Loving father of Cassandra (Jeff) Woznicki, David Ruditys, Tim Ruditys, the late Matthew Ruditys, and Christopher (Jennie Macaluso) Ruditys. Proud grandpa of Jocelyn (Don), Kristin (Andy), Adam, Rebecca, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Jordan, and Maddie. Dear great-grandpa Joe of Caitlyn, Lucas, Addie, Evie, Olivia, Drew, Emma, Kelly, Elsa, and Irelyn. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth; his brothers Raymond and Robert. Loving brother of Marlene "Corky" Quirk. Brother-in-law of Catherine Bacik, Lucinne (Don) Herrman, and Beverly Walczak. Also loved by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Joe was born in Ironwood, MI and the family moved to Wisconsin when he was 2 years old. He attended Cudahy High School and went on to join the US Army. In 1959 Joe became a Milwaukee Fire Fighter where he proudly served the community until his retirement. He was the President of Local 215 Fire Fighters Union from 1972 to 1986. During his years as President he served on the executive boards of the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO and the Milwaukee County Labor Council. Joe fought for the benefits of the Rank and File members that he represented, always doing what was in the best interests of those he served. He was politically involved on the local, state, and federal levels. Joe also worked on a part-time basis for Dental Associates as a labor consultant for almost 15 years.
Joe's life was filled with devoted pastimes and hobbies; including hunting and fishing with his buddies up north at the 'Garden of Eden', yearly stays in Arizona with family and friends, playing dominoes and meeting with his bowling buddies. His true passion was the game of golf. He loved to golf. He cherished all his time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; they were the light of his life. Joe was gregarious, well liked, and well respected by those who knew him and will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all of those that he touched over the years.
