IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Josef
Gungl
February 20, 1938 – August 30, 2024
Reached his Eternal Home on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the awesome age of 86. Loving husband of the late Arleita (nee Haertl). Beloved father of Dawn (Jim) Hilton-Leys, Lisa (Carlos) Rodriguez and Rosemarie Gungl. Proud grandfather of Cecilia Rodriguez, Camellie (Caleb) Zovar, Carlos Rodriguez, Jr., Kitty Leys (David McSpadden), Angela (Collin) Gowdy, Josef Gungl, Samuel Gungl, and Benjamin Gungl. Dear great-grandfather of Zion, Isabella, Noah, Judah, Mercy Rae, Olivianna, Grace, Nehemiah, and Amilianna. He will be missed by many family and friends.
Josef made beautiful wooden furniture and toys for his family. He retired from Eaton Corporation as a painter after over 20 years of service. He immigrated to the United States from Germany in his 20's and settled in Wisconsin. Josef loved everyone he met. He loved long country drives where he would whistle and sing German songs when he was content. Josef was a humble man and was never selfish. He always thought about everyone else. A harmonica player, he shared his gift with family and the physicians he loved. Josef was a fervent prayer warrior and had a special direct line to the Lord.
