On August 12, 2014, Uncle Joe joined his brother Reynaldo in golfer's paradise at the age of 60. He is remembered by his daughters; Angelita and Amy Lynn Renteria, his siblings; Celestina (Juan Carlos Ojeda), Guadalupe, Margarita (Chad Murphy), Christina (Bruce) Downing, Gloria (Joel) Gonzalez, Grace (David Willsher), Daniel (Donna Kay), Juan Miguel "Miko" (Tracy Bandkowski) and his cherished nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his former spouse Donna Wimmer, other relatives, his friends at the YMCA in Waukesha, and his dear buddy David Hofman.
