John F. Swanson was welcomed into his Heavenly home on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the age of 74. Husband and best friend of Jill Swanson (nee Unrein). Dad of Heidi (Craig) Nehls, John (Jennifer) Swanson, Amanda Swanson and Ashley Swanson. Stepdad of Christina Flowers (Tim Brooks) and Jeff (Katelynn) Flowers. Grandfather of nine. Further survived by family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his first wife and his sister.

John was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force in the Viet Nam war. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW.

John was a man who touched many lives. He loved to travel, fish, he enjoyed good food and was an avid reader.

John's faith was very important, "Well done good and faithful servant."

Committal service at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St. Union Grove WI on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Please meet directly at the office at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the committal service there will be a Celebration of Life for John at Mike Unrein's residence (3609 South 90th Street, Milwaukee WI 53228).
