John N. Smith, 43 from Oak Creek, WI departed this life on December 16, 2018. John was born in Rockford, IL to Barbara Smith on December 22, 1974. He attended Auburn High School, Rockford, IL and De Soto High School, De Soto, WI graduating from Auburn High in 1993. He attended Nashville Auto Diesel College, graduating in 1994. John worked as a diesel mechanic in the Milwaukee area at Schneider Trucking and then many years for Wisconsin Kenworth. John enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, deer hunting, fishing, working on cars, doing yard work, home repairs, but he most enjoyed being with his eleven year old son, Braeden whom he adored. John is survived by his son, Braeden, New Berlin, WI; his mother Barbara De Line, Oak Creek, WI; maternal grandmother Jeanette Smith, Genoa, WI; aunts and uncles: Charles Smith, Rockford, IL; Jerry (Therese) Smith, La Crosse, WI; Dale (Leona) Smith, La Crosse, WI; Yvonne Ellefson (Marty), Hawkeye, IA: Jim (Shirley) Smith, Sparta, WI; Patty (Dwight) Veglahn, Genoa, WI; Jessica (Roman) Kamrowski, Onalaska, WI; Linda Smith(Terry), Genoa, WI, many cousins and friends. John was a wonderful human being, a friend to all, willing to help anyone out; he will be missed by everyone whose life was touched by his presence. The family would like to thank Dr. Ahuja, Dr. Bobustuc, and Dr. Khan, Sandy from Aurora, and the many other staff from St. Lukes that helped John on his cancer journey. A celebration of Johns life will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at BURGEY'S PUB AND PRIME, 8919 E. Frontage Road, Caledonia WI 53108, from 1PM to 3PM. A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 13th from 1-3pm at the De Soto Community Center, 57 Crawford St, De Soto, WI 54624.
