Was born and raised in Cudahy and a graduate of Marquette University. He spent his remaining years in Des Moines Iowa. On March 28, 2016 he died peacefully surrounded by family due to complications to dementia and Parkinson's disease. He was age 81. John worked tirelessly for years in the nuclear engineering field. He loved his work. He was a well-respected member of the nuclear engineering community and for years spent time as a contributor to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to ensure the safety of nuclear power plants. He is also the co-author of the book "The Twentieth Century, The Age of Mediocrity, History of the Development of Nuclear Reactor Powering Systems for Freedom" which was well received by his peers.
Mr. Nevshemal is survived by his five children, Kristine Stuart of Burlingame, CA, John Anthony Nevshemal Jr. of Laramie, WY, Martin John Nevshemal of Liberty , MO, Mike McGann Nevshemal of Winterset, IA and Joseph Patrick Nevshemal of Walla, WA and twelve grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Anthony Frank, mother Beatrice and sister Juan Lohr of Cudahy.
Mr. Nevshemal's services will be on Monday, April 4, 2016, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church, 3672 E. Plankinton Ave., Cudahy at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Nevshemal's life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Boys and Girls Club of America Organization.
