John L. Blandino began his exploration of our Greater Universe on January 16, 2026 at the age of 75. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Angeline (Rohun Patel); sisters, Loretta and Mary; brother, Joe; and sister-in-law, Sharon. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
John was born on November 20th , 1950, to George and Anne (née Talento) Blandino in Madison, Wisconsin. At age 5 John’s family relocated to what would become his home town of Milwaukee. After he graduated from Whitnall High School he studied math at Marquette University, journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and earned a degree in classical guitar from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
John traveled all over the world, both for his work as a network engineer, and to explore new places and cultures. He was known for his humor, patience, generosity, and his friendly nature. He never missed an opportunity to make a new friend wherever he went. A perpetual tinkerer of clocks, cars, and everything in-between, he stayed active after retirement by making quilts, visiting friends and family, and by teaching guitar and ukelele classes. His bright and positive personality will be missed by the many friends who loved him, and whom he loved unconditionally.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of John’s life on Pi Day (Saturday, March 14th), John’s favorite unofficial holiday, at Prasser-Kleczka South Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00AM – 11:00AM, with memorial service to follow where friends and family will be welcome to share stories, memories, and music.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations appreciated to Serving Older Adults of Southeast Wisconsin.
