John Everett Duff
A patriotic American John E. Duff passed away on the 4th of July, 2025. Age 71 years. Beloved husband for 52 years of Teodora "Teddy" Duff. Loving dad of Jessica (Kevin) L'Huillier, John L. Duff (Robin Bechler) and Amy (Phenix) Duff. Cherished grandpa of Leticia L'Huillier, Alyssa L'Huillier, Ciera L'Huillier and Samantha L'Huillier; Brianna (Michael) Hagen, Rebecca Duff; Arianna Loot, Tre Graham, RaSean Graham, Xavier Flugence, Jaidyn Flugence and Knight Flugence. Adored brother of James (Madel) Duff, David (Tamara) Duff and Grace (Ricardo) Rueda. Dear brother-in-law of Frank (Colleen) Rueda and Armando (Della) Rueda. John is preceded in death by his parents Everett Duff and Juanita Mayer and siblings Linda Duff, Virginia Domenech and Thomas Duff. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews that he adored deeply, other family members and friends.
Born in Woodruff, Wisconsin to the son of a WWII U.S. Marine veteran, John moved around the country quite a bit as a child with stops in Texas and Montana until finally settling on the north side of Milwaukee. It was there that he met the "Girl next door" and the love of his life Teddy. In the year 1972 John married Teddy embarking on a 52-year amazing life together. Shortly after John began his career with the Chicago / Northwestern Railroad working as both a switchman and conductor for 20 years. Finally retiring in 2003, John and Teddy found more time to spend with their grandchildren and traveling to many of the small towns of Wisconsin. Throughout his life John enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and shooting pool. Many of his woodworking creations still live in the homes of his grandchildren.
John will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, his story telling and his amazing memory.
The family will be hosting a celebration of John's life on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at: Lake Vista Pavilion, 4159 East Lake Vista Parkway, Oak Creek, Wisconsin, 53154. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's memory may be made to his wife, Teodora.
