Passed away on Tuesday, September 1 surrounded by his family at the age of 66. Beloved husband of 7 years to Alice Brecheisen (Geisler). Loving dad of Erik Brecheisen, Greta (Cullen Grover) Brecheisen, and Jakob (Sara O'Connor) Brecheisen. Caring stepfather of Amanda (Ryan) Keith-Ganshert, Nicole (Robert) Ulander. Proud grandpa of Madeline Ganshert. Devoted brother of Anne "Becky" (Michael Young) Achten, Jody (Scott) Willingham. Cousin of Libby (Douglas) Grady. Former husband of Doreen Brecheisen. Preceded in death by his son Christian Brecheisen and his parents Preston and Jacqueline Brecheisen. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Odessa, Texas. John received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas of Austin and his Master's in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. John then began a 38 year with the Department of Veteran Affair.
John was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of America through his sons. John and Alice traveled the world and especially loved his time in Spain. John found joy in cooking and eating with his loved ones. Wine was a passion that he developed later in his life and loved visiting wineries around the world. Art history and learning were interests that he followed his whole life. John was an Attack UNO champion and will be missed by all.
Visitation FRIDAY, September 4, 2020 from 11-12 Noon at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Committal Prayers at Forest Hill Memorial Park to follow.
