Joanne graduated from Pulaski High School in 1954. She married Casey Tomski on September 4, 1954. They were married for 52 plus years until Casey died on May 11, 2007. They lived most of their lives in St. Francis, until they moved to Greenfield before settling in Oak Creek in 2005.
Joanne was primarily a homemaker throughout her life, and she also worked at the St. Paul Catholic School lunch program for many years, and was a childcare worker at a local daycare center. She loved comedy, and was a huge fan of Johnny Carson when he hosted the Tonight Show, and she loved watching the reruns in recent years on Me-TV. She also loved Ray Romano and Steve Harvey, among others. She was a fan of the Brewers and the Packers, and she enjoyed watching her sons compete in wrestling, baseball, cross country, track and field, basketball, but not football. She also enjoyed watching her grandsons compete in those same sports as well as soccer.
Her faith was always important to Joanne. She was an active member of the Christian Mothers group at St. Paul Parish for many years, and she also served as lector and catechist.
The family invites people to begin gathering at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1720 E. Norwich St. in Milwaukee any time after 3 p.m. on Monday June 19, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Arul Ponnaiyan beginning at 5 p.m. After Mass, the family invites everyone to continue the celebration of Joannes life at a dinner reception.
