Joan J. Kane (nee Peterson) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023 surrounded by her family at the age of 86. Loving wife of the late Gregory F. Kane and dear friend of William Gornick. Beloved mother of Thomas A. Santoy (Jeannie Licary), Linda A. (Michael) Latona and Heidi A. Wier (Donald Wierzbinski). Cherished grandmother of Jessica (Tim) Nicholson, Nicole Meyer and Natalie Meyer, Andrew J. (Rebecca) Buchman, Lindsay M. (Michael) Rowland, Jacob T. (Kristin Dowe) Wierzbinski and Carly E. (Andy) See. Cherished great-grandmother of Lincoln, Hailey, Leanna, Keira, Mason, Jaxson, Maverick, Reese and Stevie. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grand and great-grandchildren.

Joan had 16 siblings, Carlotta, Ethel, Florence, Carlton, Lois, Delores, Rita, Gloria, Francis, Carole, Jack, Gerald, Judy, Thomas, Janet and Patricia. Preceded in death by her parents Francis and Ethel Peterson. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A private service and interment will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 3801 W. Morgan Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53221.
