IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jessica Lynn
Dettlaff
July 28, 1986 – May 6, 2023
Jessica passed away surrounded by family and dear friend Mickey on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Age 36 years. Cherished daughter of Larry and Michelle Dettlaff. Adored sister of Daniel (Busra) Dettlaff, Noah Dettlaff and Caden Dettlaff. Dear granddaughter of Ronald and Shirley St. Peter. Loving niece of Martin (Debbie) Dettlaff, Paul (Katie) Dettlaff, Richard Thompson; Scott (Lynn) St. Peter and Thomas St. Peter. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Larry Dettlaff and Duella Thompson, aunts Pauline Ray, Janet Tafoya uncle Larry Ray and her beloved dog Ellie and special friend Nick. Further survived by many cousins, friends and family.
Jessica grew up in Door County Wisconsin. After graduating from Southern Door High School, she moved to Milwaukee where she attended UWM. She was a free spirit who fully embraced life and loved all forms of art and shared her work with those she loved. Her love of music was encouraged so much so that she even got her dad caught up in a mosh pit at a Godsmack concert. Jessica was truly a friend to everyone she met. Generous, caring, sweet, and genuine, Jessica always found the good in people and adored her three brothers, who all looked up to her immensely. She loved spending time with her grandma going shopping, scrapbooking or gardening. She also enjoyed time with friends and family and could talk to you for hours on end without missing a beat.
A Celebration of Jessica's Life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 12:00 Noon-10:00 P.M. at Greenfield Park, 2028 South 124th Street. West Allis, WI. Picnic Area 5. Brown Building. Do not think of me and weep,
I am here, but do not sleep.
In the morning, when you rise,
Remember my smile and warm,
Loving eyes,
Because I am always with you in disguise.
I am the glitter of a fresh winter snow through the sunlight
That warms your soul I am the smile on a child's face,
and the cool rain that splashes on your face,
It is my laugh you will hear in a crowded place.
I am the wind blowing your hair,
A mess and laughing all the way because
I am Jess and I love you all.
