In Loving Memory of Jennifer Lynn Larsen
June 9, 1977 - December 27, 2023
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jennifer Lynn Larsen, a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter-in-law, aunt, and friend. Jennifer, known to her loved ones as "Jen," left us on December 27, 2023, at the age of 46 years. She was born on June 9, 1977, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
Jen's memory will forever be cherished by her devoted husband of 21 years, Chad Larsen. She was the loving mother of Nolan and Ella, her pride and joy. She was the beloved sister of John (Lorena) Schankey, Joe (Tammy Crespo) Schankey, Justin (Natalie) Schankey, Angie Strand, Rick (Lydia) Strand, Linda (Les) Moore, Sandy Schankey, Beth (Orville) Amborn, and Chris Stewart. Jen was also a dear daughter-in-law to Darlene and Rich Larsen. She was the adored sister-in-law of Kim (Jeff) Saunders and Rich (Tanya) Larsen. And a very special aunt of Austin, Olivia and Jackson; Zachary, Jacob and Joey; Declan; Linus, Aili, Sabine, Perle and Dietrich; Lucinda (Jim); Les (Rachel) and Laura (Brad); Renata and Breanne; Emily (Derrick), Ryan (Liz) Saunderson and Kyle (Steph) Saunders; Riley, Liam and Owen Larsen. She will be dearly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, cherished friends, and other family members. Jen was preceded in death by her parents Joyce and Vernon Schankey.
Jen's journey began in Milwaukee, where she attended Oklahoma Avenue Grade School and later graduated as a Full Inter-Baccalaureate student from Rufus King High School. Her passion for learning led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, before attaining her MBA in Business Administration from Marquette University.
Professionally, Jen thrived in the field of sales. Her expertise and dedication led her to a successful career as a salesperson. She worked for more than 20 years at Eaton Co. and more recently for Whirlpool. Her dedication and strong work ethic were valued throughout her career.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jen touched many lives through her kindness and compassion. She had a deep-rooted passion for educating and mentoring young minds, specifically advocating for the importance of STEM disciplines. Her commitment to this cause was exemplified through her involvement in STEM Forward, where she served on the board of directors. Jen's legacy of motivating and empowering young girls to pursue STEM fields will continue to inspire future generations.
Outside of her work and advocacy, Jen enjoyed traveling with her family, prioritizing physical wellness, and spending cherished moments with her friends. Her love for 90's hip-hop and the music of NKOTB never wavered, reminding others of her vibrant spirit and warm heart.
Jen's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her determination, intellect, loyalty, and sense of humor will forever be treasured. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she touched.
In honor of Jen's deep commitment to education and STEM, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to STEM Forward.
May Jennifer's soul rest in Eternal Peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.
