In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Scott Schaefer
Jeffrey Scott Schaefer, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 27, 2023, at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on July 10, 1961, in his beloved hometown of Milwaukee, Jeff led a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Jeffrey's journey began at Bay View High School, where he honed his culinary skills in the school's culinary classes - a passion that would stay with him throughout his life. Following high school, Jeff proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard for six years.
On that fateful day of July 3, 1980, while hosting a party at his parents' house, Jeff opened the door to find the love of his life, Jodi. Their connection was immediate, and they exchanged vows on May 8, 1982, embarking on a beautiful journey of 41 years together. Their love story was blessed with two remarkable daughters, Amanda and Rebecca, who brought immeasurable joy to Jeff's life.
As a father, Jeff's unwavering support and trust allowed his daughters to flourish into the strong and resilient women they are today. His devotion to his family was further evident in his role as a loving grandpa to Oakleigh Louise, Willow Jane, Scarlett Roe, and Wade Jeffrey. Their laughter and smiles brought immense happiness to his heart.
Outside of his family, Jeff dedicated himself to his career as a Lead Courier with ACL Labs. Known for his reliability and commitment to his work, he was respected by colleagues and cherished by those he served.
Throughout his life, Jeff found joy and solace in culinary pursuits, eagerly sharing his cooking talents with family and friends. Whether it was whipping up a batch of pickled vegtables or mouthwatering ribs, he always delighted in bringing people together around his table. His gatherings were filled with laughter, treasured conversations, and memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of all who attended.
In his free time, Jeff enjoyed trips to Florida, especially Key West, where he could bask in the warmth of the sun and embrace the laid-back atmosphere. Closer to home, the family cabin in Rhinelander provided the backdrop for countless adventures and precious moments with loved ones. And who could forget the Rawson Pub, a place where Jeff felt at home, surrounded by friends and friendly banter.
In celebrating Jeff's life, we remember his impeccable way of making everyone feel welcomed, his sharp wit that led to quick comebacks, his knack for engrossing conversations, and the comforting presence he provided during challenging times. Jeff's bear hugs and genuine smile were a reflection of the deep love and care he possessed for those around him.
Jeffrey Scott Schaefer's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his beloved wife Jodi, absolutely awesome dad of Amanda (Steve) Cook and Rebecca (Reed) Meyer. Adored grandpa of Oakleigh Louise and Willow Jane; Scarlett Roe and Wade Jeffrey. He will always be remembered by his brothers David and Dean. He is preceded in death by his brothers the late Dennis (Joanne), the late Mark, and the late Dale (Patricia) and his parents Gerald and Louise. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members and wonderful friends. In honoring his legacy, we extend our deepest gratitude for having the privilege of knowing and being loved by Jeff.
