94, Was born to eternal life on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 in the loving care of St. Ann's Retirement Home. Jean was born January 19, 1921 in Milwaukee, the only and much beloved daughter of Josephine (Mirkes) and John P. Schmit. Jean was a lifelong member of the St. Ann's Society, Marianist Lay Community, and the Immaculate Conception Church. Jean was employed by International Harvester, serving as union secretary for Lodge 1862. Jean loved to travel and meet new people. Upon retirement she traveled through-out the United States and visited Europe twice. Gambling was another fun diversion of Jeans she never missed a bingo game. She was a Brewers fan and enjoyed following their games. Jean will be remembered as a loving and fun godmother and devoted friend. Jean is preceded in death by her cousins, Frances Benkoske, Leonard Mirkes, Norman Mirkes, and Rita Varick and dear friends Ruth and Miriam. Further survived by her godson Mark (Nancy) and other relatives and friends.
